- **Eligibility:** An employee must have completed a minimum of **5 years** of continuous service.
- **Exemption:** The 5-year limit does **not** apply in case of death or disablement.
- **Formula:** Gratuity is calculated based on the last drawn salary (Basic + Dearness Allowance). The formula is: $$(Basic + DA) \times \frac{15}{26} \times \text{Completed Years of Service}$$
- **Rounding:** A service period of **6 months or more** in the final year is rounded up to 1 full year.
- **Maximum Limit:** The maximum gratuity amount payable is currently **₹20 Lakhs**.
